Dental Checkup

Dental Checkup

Background

During your examination, we aim to find out all the details regarding your dental status. This includes a discussion about any current problems you may be experiencing and a subsequent thorough check of all the structures within and around the oral cavity. We use a variety of different investigative procedures including digital x-rays and special cameras during the examination process. This helps us to form accurate diagnoses and communicate any findings with you in a simple and informative manner. The examination also includes mouth cancer screening

What To Expect

Routine dental appointments are usually carried out every six months, but the number of times you need to attend these appointments varies from patient to patient. Some patients may require more frequent visits, while others may need to come into the practice less often – the dentist will advise you on how often you need a regular check-up.

Every dental check-up will include all or part of the following and the results will be recorded:
Gum disease depth measurement around your teeth to help assess the level of gum disease.
An x-ray to show the parts of the teeth that are under the gum.
An x-ray to show areas between the teeth that are not visible to the naked eye.
An examination of the function of the jaw joint.
A check of the present condition of each tooth – fillings, decay, cracks, crowns etc.
Basic Erosive Toothwear examination (enamel wearing away)
"The staff are all experts, and use the latest equipment to demonstrate the difference that good care makes, which instills good habits, especially in children. Really reassuring for all the family."
